Dartmouth Presidential Lectures: President Kim on taking responsible risks

   


"Your theory of mind affects your performance," College President Jim Yong Kim told Dartmouth students on July 29, 2010 during his Presidential Lecture in Moore Theatre. Kim gave the second talk in the lecture series that opened July 16 with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Kim drew from growing evidence in psychology, neuroscience, and sociology - and his own experiences -- to suggest base habits like empathy are teachable, even for college-aged individuals. "We are in the business of building better human beings that can take on the world's troubles and make them better," Kim said.
